Man critical after Sydney overpass fall

Sydney

A man has been taken to hospital in critical condition to undergo emergency surgery after falling from an overpass in the Sydney CBD.

The man fell from the pedestrian overpass on Harbour St, near Bathurst St, shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday.

The man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery on Sunday morning.

Police believe several people were on the overpass when the man fell and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
