Manchester City will face Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup after their 3-0 victory over Oxford United on Monday evening.
The Gunners attempted to find the breakthrough in the first half but failed to threaten the U's goalkeeper often enough in the opening 45. Mikel Arteta's team thought that they should have had a penalty when a strike by Eddie Nketiah hit the hand of a sliding defender but the referee waved play on.
Just after the hour mark, Arsenal had their breakthrough as Mohamed Elneny powered a header into the back of the net from a free kick. Just less than ten minutes later Nketiah made it two with a composed finish around the 'keeper before chipping Edward McGinty to make it three.

The draw for the next round of the domestic cup competition took place on Sunday afternoon prior to City's 4-0 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. Riyad Mahrez gave the Blues the lead on 23 minutes when he curled home a wonderful free kick.
Pep Guardiola's side doubled their advantage on the half hour mark when Kai Havertz was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty area. Argentine Julian Alvarez converted the spot kick.
City were 3-0 up before half time when a free flowing move culminated in Kyle Walker picking out Phil Foden in the centre. Foden was again involved in the final goal when he was bundled over for another penalty.
Mahrez stepped up on this occasion and confidently dispatched his strike past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Ties in the fourth round of the FA Cup will take place between Friday, January 27 and Monday, January 30.
