Real Madrid booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they saw off a spirited Manchester City to progress.
Holding a 3-0 lead from the first leg, the Spanish side were in a commanding position and soon found themselves further on top despite a fast start from the hosts. Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva was shown a red card, the first of his senior career, after rushing back to block a Vinicius Jr shot with his arm on the line, with the Brazilian stepping up to convert from the penalty spot and extend Real Madrid’s aggregate advantage.
