Manchester City should prioritise a full-back and a back-up defensive midfielder this summer, former captain Richard Dunne has said.
City have strengthened their title-winning attack by adding two central strikers in Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland. While Haaland is expected to play a key role immediately, Alvarez will be assessed after reporting for pre-season training in July before Pep Guardiola decides whether he will be part of the squad going forward.
City can now turn their attentions to elsewhere in the squad, with other areas possibly in need of strengthening, especially if others depart. And former defender Dunne has identified two positions that the recruitment should be focussed around.
