Manchester City will be without star midfielder Rodri for Sunday's trip to face Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge clash is the highlight of the opening weekend of the Premier League season, as new Blues boss Enzo Maresca faces former mentor Pep Guardiola.
But the reigning champions will be missing the influential Rodri, a player who went 74 games unbeaten for City until losing the FA Cup Final at the end of last season.
Rodri will not be available for the first game of the new season, having been forced off at half-time of Spain's Euro 2024 final victory over England and not yet returning to training with City.
Asked about Rodri's fitness, Guardiola told reporters on Friday: “I didn’t see him yet, I think he feels good.
"We’ll have to start him training and see how he feels when he starts to move his body. No chance [he faces Chelsea]."
City will also be without Oscar Bobb, who has been sidelined for "three to four months" after suffering a broken leg.
