Man City striker Erling Haaland makes 'best I've ever seen' admission about Mario Balotelli

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed that he would either pick himself or former Blues forward Mario Balotelli to take a penalty kick 'if his life depended on it'.

The Norwegian frontman has been in scintillating form since his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund, with the 22-year-old registering 20 goals and three assists in 13 appearances in all competitions.

Haaland has scored once from the penalty spot for Pep Guardiola's side this season and has proven himself to be an accomplished spot-kick taker in recent years.

During an interview with ex-Manchester United man Gary Neville on Sky Sports, the Norway international was asked who he would choose to take a 'penalty kick for your life' - and his reply was somewhat surprising.

"I have to say myself because I trust myself a lot. If not, there are some good ones. I have to say Mario Balotelli; probably he was the best one I’ve ever seen, he was really good, so maybe him or me," said Haaland.

Balotelli registered 30 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions for City between 2010 and 2013, with the Italian striker scoring eight penalties. Balotelli was confident from the spot and had a unique style from 12 yards.

The forward has played for a number of clubs around the globe since leaving the Etihad in 2013 and currently plies his trade for Swiss outfit Sion. Haaland was also asked which three people he would pick to be stuck on a desert island with, and he was quick to name Kevin De Bruyne as one of his companions.

He replied: "I think De Bruyne will always assist me really well, [and] I think my mother and father to take good care of me and to cook some good Norwegian food."
