Manchester City are interested in Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes, according to reports.
Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Sport Witness ) have published a report suggesting that the Blues are 'advancing' for the 23-year-old's signature. He featured in the 5-0 drubbing against Pep Guardiola's side before missing the second leg through suspension.
It has been claimed that he has a release clause of €60m (£49.8m), though Sporting have set a minimum asking price of €40m (£32m). The report adds the two clubs could use their budding relationship to find alternatives to the deal.

City's interest in Nunes should come as no surprise given Fabrizio Romano has reported that Guardiola is looking to bolster his midfield amid Fernandinho's contract uncertainty. The Brazilian's contract with City expires this summer, though Guardiola had hoped to keep him at the club.
Meanwhile, Yan Couto is set to return to Manchester after his loan stint with Braga as Guardiola looks to get a closer look at the full-back. Record (via Sport Witness ) has stated that the Spanish tactician is looking to integrate the defender into the squad and evaluate whether he should be kept at the club.
