Jack Grealish and Graeme Souness' budding feud took a new twist on Thursday night when the Manchester City star agreed to a night out with him, but only if Paul Pogba was welcome as well.
Pundit Souness has never been shy about criticising either player and Grealish has been in the Liverpool legend's crosshairs specifically this week. Speaking on TalkSport, Souness claimed that Grealish was “a good footballer” but “not a great player”, that he takes too many touches and hasn't improved his game since his £100million switch to City last summer.
Grealish hit back at Souness, making it clear he'd rather take advice from Pep Guardiola than him. He said: “I don’t know what his problem is with me. He always says stuff about me.

“It is difficult [to ignore] when he’s on Sky Sports and it’s everywhere around the training ground. He was a great player and won a lot but I don’t know what problem he’s got.
“I know he’s said a lot of stuff about me not moving the ball quicker but when I’m playing for a manager like Pep Guardiola and he’s telling me to keep the ball as much as I can and have balls to take it everywhere, that’s what I’ll try to do. “I always watch my games back and I’m very critical of myself."
Souness returned to TalkSport on Thursday to make it clear he has no agenda against Grealish. "Absolutely none," he said. "I would love to go on a night out with him. I’m not sure I could stay with him, but I think I’d enjoy a night out with him!”
It seems Grealish is well up for accepting his offer but only if former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba — who regularly suffered Souness' ire — can come along too. "Let’s do it!!" Grealish replied on Twitter with laughing emojis. As long as I can bring Pogba as a +1."
Souness criticised Pogba so often during his time at United that it has now become a running joke on social media.
