Man City's next six Premier League fixtures compared with Arsenal, Newcastle and rivals

Manchester City will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table when they travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the top-flight on Saturday.

The Blues, who are currently first in the table, secured a 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland. The win saw Pep Guardiola's men move above the Gunners in the table on goal difference, albeit with the London outfit having a game in hand.

While City fans will already be thinking about the upcoming Champions League clash against RB Leipzig, Guardiola must ensure his players remain focused on their next challenge, that being the visit to Forest. The Blues thrashed Steve Cooper's side 6-0 in the reverse fixture in August.

As the Premier League matches continue to come thick and fast, MEN Sport has taken a close look at City's next six league fixtures and compared them with those of the clubs they are currently competing with at the top end of the table.

Manchester City - 1st (51pts)

  • Nottingham Forest (A) - February 18
  • Bournemouth (A) - February 25
  • Newcastle United (H) - March 4
  • Crystal Palace (A) - March 11
  • West Ham United (H) - March 19
  • Liverpool (H) - April 1

Verdict: With three matches at the Etihad Stadium and three away in their next six scheduled Premier League fixtures, City will be confident about keeping pace with Arsenal at the top of the table. The Blues will be aiming for a good points haul in the coming weeks, with matches against Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and West Ham United all winnable fixtures for Guardiola's men.

However, the home games against Newcastle United and Liverpool will both be difficult tests, and should the Blues win their other six marches, Guardiola would probably take four points from those two clashes. With the Gunners not playing a top-four side in the coming weeks, it is vital City continue to pick up points.

Arsenal - 2nd (51pts)

  • Crystal Palace (H) - March 19

Manchester United - 3rd (46pts)

  • Southampton (H) - March 11
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (A) - March 19
