Manchester City has revealed more details of its £300m plans to redevelop the Etihad stadium and surroundings following consultation with fans.
The club has submitted a planning application for the proposal that includes the expansion of the North Stand to take the stadium capacity above 60,000, as well as a hotel, sky bar, and stadium roof walk experience.
Club bosses want the Etihad complex to become a place to go every day of the week, all year round. The plans also include a covered City Square fan zone, with capacity for 3,000 people and a wide variety of food and drink outlets, as well as a new club shop, museum and a 400-bed hotel.

The club says “Modest workspace for use by start-up and medium-sized organisations looking to co-locate and collaborate with the Club, City Football Group and Etihad Campus partners also features in the planning submission.”
The plans were presented to fans in February and March and the club says all the proposals were well-received.
Man City says that if approved the construction project would take up to three years to complete and could support some 2,600 jobs.
Danny Wilson, managing director of club operations, said: “Over several months we have been developing concepts and designs for a best-in-class fan experience and year-round entertainment and leisure destination at the Etihad Stadium and are delighted to have now submitted a planning application to Manchester City Council.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our fans and the local community for their participation in our recent consultation, not only for completing the questionnaire but sharing their detailed comments and feedback with us, all of which has been carefully reviewed and considered.
“As with all club developments, ensuring our local community benefit is a key priority and we believe these proposals will deliver long-term economic and social opportunities, building on the regeneration work delivered in East Manchester by City Football Group since 2008.”
