Manchester City have reportedly rejected a bid from Southampton for Liam Delap.
The 19-year-old was recently included in Pep Guardiola's pre-season tour squad. Delap featured as a replacement for Julian Alvarez during their victory over Club America in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to The Athletic, City have rejected a £16m bid from the south coast club this summer as they aim to strengthen their forward line after Armando Broja returned to parent club Chelsea. Guardiola is thought to have rebuffed the permanent bid and there is reportedly loan interest from a number of Championship sides.

Meanwhile, The Athletic claim there is a lot of interest in Delap's academy teammate James McAtee. Recent reports have suggested City would be open to the midfielder moving out on loan this summer.
It is understood that McAtee is being monitored by teams in the Premier League, La Liga and Eredivisie. Both Leeds United and Aston Villa have already been linked with a move for the youngster.
