Man City 'ready' to seal £45m Marc Cucurella deal and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly ready to meet Brighton’s asking price and launch a £45m bid for full-back Marc Cucurella.

The player has four years left on his contract after enjoying a terrific debut Premier League season. Graham Potter would rather not lose the full-back, hence his club's steep price tag.

But with Oleksandr Zinchenko tipped to leave the Etihad this summer, Pep Guardiola is looking for cover at left-back. The Catalan coach is said to have kept tabs on Cucurella ever since he left Barcelona in 2020

Elsewhere, Raheem Sterling is closing in on a move to Chelsea after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea.

Sterling, who has less than 12 months remaining on his deal at the Etihad, was convinced earlier this week by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel that he should make the move to Stamford Bridge after receiving game time assurances that Pep Guardiola could offer.

Chelsea are set to agree a fee with the Premier League champions, which would now all but seal one of the most high-profile transfers of the summer. However, as previously reported by MEN Sport, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been negotiating privately over a price for Sterling with Txiki Begiristain and the City recruitment team to ensure that the first bid offered — to be in excess of the £45million City got from Arsenal for Gabriel Jesus — is accepted.

Finally, City midfielder Diego Rosa has secured a season-long loan move to Portuguese side FC Vizela.

Defensive midfielder Rosa, 19, signed for City from Brazilian side Gremio in 2020 for an initial £2.65million, with further instalments taking the transfer fee to £5.2m after he completed the move to the Etihad in January 2021.

Other add-ons could take the deal to £21m, but that would require him to break into the City first team and make over 30 appearances.
