Manchester City are reportedly preparing to offer Erling Haaland a new contract after a release clause in his current deal was removed.
According to The Athletic, the Blues are keen to reward the Norwegian striker for his scintillating start to life at the Etihad Stadium following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer. Haaland has registered 48 goals in 41 games in all competitions so far this season.
His contract at City contained a clause that permitted him to leave for £150m in the summer of 2024, should a club have made an approach for him. However, that was cancelled when Pep Guardiola renewed his own contract in November of last year - with the Spaniard extending his stay until 2025.
