Man City player ratings as Ruben Dias stands out vs Bristol City

Ortega: Took a knock and had to be replaced early. Kicking put under pressure. 6

Lewis: Had more uncomfortable moments in defence than he would like but a solid option on the ball. 6

Akanji: Put an early slip behind him to keep City composed at the back. 7

Dias: How City missed him after the World Cup, his commanding leadership was essential to the success. 8

Ake: Steady defensively on the left and got into some very handy positions up the pitch. 7

Phillips: Hit the post and nearly gave a goal away in the second minute alone. Settled into a good showing. 7

De Bruyne: It still feels like a lot isn't coming off for him, but enough did for him to make a difference. 8

Bernardo: An underrated and understated display that kept City in possession like few other players were able to do. 7

Mahrez: The part he played in the opening goal was class, although he was largely kept quiet after that. 7

Foden: Outstanding from start to finish, albeit with one heavy challenge too many that earned him a yellow. 8

Alvarez: Linked well with the midfield but was unable to offer enough goal threat. 6

Gomez (for Ake, 83): No time to mark

Perrone (for Bernardo, 88): No time to mark
