Manchester City enjoyed a comfortable early evening at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday as Chelsea were brushed aside.
Riyad Mahrez gave City the lead on 23 minutes after he curled home a stunning free-kick beyond the reach of Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Blues doubled their lead from the spot on the half-hour mark.
A VAR check spotted that Kai Havertz had handled the ball in the area. Julian Alvarez stepped up and squeezed his effort just beyond the reach of Kepa.

And when Mahrez found Kyle Walker on the overlap, his cross picking out Phil Foden to tap the ball home, it was game over before half-time. The second half was very much a non-event but with five minutes to go the Algerian got his second of the game converting another spot-kick after Foden was fouled.
All in all it was an impressive third round tie for the Blues and MEN Sport has taken a look at some moments you may have missed from the FA Cup victory.
Gianluca Vialli tribute
Before a ball was kicked at the Etihad Stadium, time was taken to acknowledge the passing of Chelsea legend Vialli. The Italian passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chelsea players wore the number nine shirt in their pre-match warm-up. Both sides wore black armbands and there was a minute's applause to celebrate the life of the former striker.
Royalty spotted in the stands
It was not quite King Charles III in attendance for the biggest game of the third round but 'Queen of the Jungle' and former City midfielder Jill Scott was pictured in the crowd. Scott spent nine years at City before retiring in 2022 after winning the European Championships with the Lionesses.
Seen alongside her was runner-up in I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and former campmate Owen Warner. The Leicester City supporter no doubt happy to have seen his side progress in the FA Cup against Gillingham on Saturday.
Self-deprecating Chelsea chants
Perhaps what summed up the performance for Chelsea was the chants that could be heard during the 90 minutes. Familiar cries of: 'Champions of Europe, you'll never sing that' were audible at the beginning of the clash.
However, as City's dominance told, the away supports mocking was aimed more towards their own team. When Omari Hutchinson trickled a shot wide deep into the second half, the away fans up in the Gods at the Etihad bellowed: 'We've had a shot.'
In a nutshell that concluded a dire afternoon for Chelsea but a brilliant one for the Blues.
