Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan has revealed the messages he exchanged with Jurgen Klopp after City won the Premier League on the final day of last season.
Liverpool needed City drop points on the final day of the season to win the title and, at 2-0 down to Aston Villa, it was looking likely until Gundogan came off the bench to score twice in a 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium.
Klopp and Gundogan worked together at Borussia Dortmund and being rivals now has not broken their strong relationship as plenty of respect is always shown.

Liverpool managed to pull back a 14 point gap in the second half of the campaign to make it yet another captivating title race between the Reds and City.
"Kloppo wrote me at 9.26 pm: ‘Congratulations’ and a heart to go with it,” Gundogan told BILD of his WhatsApp conversation with the Liverpool boss.
“I replied: ‘Thank you! You also for the great season and good luck for the Champions League final’ – and a heart too. There are some priorities and Kloppo is one of them.”
Gundogan and Klopp won the Bundesliga title together before the midfielder was signed by Pep Guardiola at City following his successful time with Dortmund.
