Manchester City will face RB Leipzig in the Champions League last-16 in the new year.
City topped their group as winners, securing a last-16 place with two games to spare and winning the group in their penultimate fixture away at Borussia Dortmund. That earned the Blues a tie against a second-placed finisher, with the further advantage of playing the second leg of the last-16 tie at the Etihad Stadium.
And in Monday's draw, City were paired with Leipzig in a repeat of last season's group fixtures, with the ties taking place in February and March. Crucially, City avoided the possibility of playing Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16, as well as Inter and AC Milan.

City will return to Germany to take on RB Leipzig after facing them in last season's group stage. An entertaining 6-3 win at the Etihad in the opening round of fixtures set the Blues on their way to securing qualification with a game to spare. That left them with little to play for in the return fixture in Leipzig, and it was the hosts who got the three points, taking advantage of Kyle Walker's red card to win 2-1.
Elsewhere in the draw, Club Brugge face Benfica, Liverpool are against Real Madrid in a repeat of last season's final, and AC Milan drew Tottenham. Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt will play Napoli, City's group rivals Borussia Dortmund go up against Chelsea and Inter Milan were paired with Porto. Finally, Paris Saint-Germain were given a tantalising contest with Bayern Munich.
The first leg at the Red Bull Arena will take place on either February 14 or 15, or a week later on February 21 or 22. The home leg at the Etihad will take place on March 7 or 8, or a week later on March 14 or 15.
