Welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily round-up, where we take a look at some of the Manchester City stories you might have missed.
City are reported to be considering joining the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in the pursuit of Paulo Dybala amid uncertainty surrounding the Juventus star's future.
The Blues are also said to be interested in a viral teenager who is believed to be priced at a staggering £83million.
And finally, City could be on the verge of signing an actual, natural recognised left-back. We know!
Paulo pursuit
With reports suggesting both Liverpool and United are interested, Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed City are also keeping tabs on Dybala's situation.
The Argentine is out of contract in Turin at the end of this season, meaning he is free to begin negotiations with clubs outside of Italy over a pre-contract agreement.
Our view: There’s no denying Dybala is an incredible player with vast experience. He would be a great addition to the already star-studded squad at the Etihad Stadium.
But we’ve seen from several examples that City will not be forced into any bidding war for a player perhaps looking to secure hefty wages by virtue of moving on a free transfer.
The £83m 15-year-old
No, this is not a joke. The 15-year-old striker Endrick is tipped to become Brazil’s next big thing and anyone wanting a piece of the action will have to pay accordingly.
The Daily Mail has reported Endrick’s current club, Palmeiras, will set the youngster’s release clause to a staggering £83m as the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and City are all thought to be keen on him.
Our view: I mean, where do you start with this? Although we’re in an era where big fees are the norm, the poor boy still has his GCSEs, or whatever the Brazilian equivalent is, to finish!
Jokes aside, the Brazilian is thought to have a huge future ahead of him but it would be difficult to imagine any club, irrespective of how rich they are, stumping up such a fee for a player so young. How much would a young Freddy Adu cost nowadays?
An actual left-back?
Joao Cancelo has' brilliance and solid showings from Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko has almost made us forget that City still don't have a completely specialist left-back . But that may be set to change.
As per TuttoMercatoWeb, Guardiola has sent scouts to watch Atletico Paranaense left-back Abner Vinicius.
Our view: Although the squad is at a world-class level, many City fans would welcome reinforcement at left-back. Cancelo has provided for the team immensely so the bar has been set rather high, but the Portugal international deserves a shot in his favoured position.
The price is set to be just over £20m for Vinicius, so the risk is relatively small. It could certainly be one to watch come the summer.
