Manchester City have enjoyed a good start to the season but there is certainly room for improvement.
Pep Guardiola's side started the campaign like a house on fire as they laid waste to the likes of Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Southampton and, of course, Manchester United. City's star summer signing Erling Haaland has had a massive part to play in that with his remarkable return of 23 goals in just 18 games.
However, the Blues' displays took a significant dip following the derby destruction as they lost their first game of the season to rivals Liverpool, struggled at times against Brighton and then only managed to scrape past Leicester City and Fulham with late goals. Their final game before the World Cup break also left a sour taste as they put in their worst performance of the season by some distance and were defeated by Brentford at the Etihad.
