Manchester City fans chanted Raheem Sterling's name as he went off injured in the opening stages of Thursday night's clash with Chelsea.
Graham Potter's side had the better of the first half. Notably John Stones did well putting in a last-ditch tackle to prevent an almost certain goal from Christian Pulisic. Carney Chukwuemeka was then denied by the post in the closing stages of the half as City looked for improvements.
City were much brighter in the second half and were unlucky not to take the lead when Nathan Ake's header struck the post. The pressure would tell in the end as Riyad Mahrez buried a Jack Grealish cross to open the scoring and win the match for the Blues.

Here are some of the moments you may have missed as City returned to winning ways against Chelsea.
Sterling receives love from City fans
During his seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, Sterling achieved plenty of memorable accomplishments which justified his switch from Liverpool in 2015. After deciding he wanted to move on to pastures new with Chelsea, there was little ill-will from Blues fans.
That was proven on Thursday night when, in the opening stages, Sterling was forced off with a perceived hamstring injury. As he walked past the away end, City supporters broke out into chants of: "Raheem Sterling, he's top of the league."
Julian Alvarez fan club expands
Alvarez impressed many supporters during the World Cup and upon his return to the City squad against Everton, the Argentine was given a hero's welcome for his achievements in Qatar. Few would have expected that he would receive similar love at Stamford Bridge though.
In actuality, a group of fans in the home end wearing a mixture of Argentina and River Plate shirts, chanted the forward's name as he emerged from the tunnel. A delighted 22-year-old flashed them a smile and a wave in recognition.
Grealish and Mahrez put on a show pre-match
In the midst of the World Cup, Grealish showed off his skills with Phil Foden at the England camp's gym. The ex-Aston Villa man was up to his familiar tricks before the match at Stamford Bridge but this time with Mahrez.
Both men showed their close control and long-range passing ability during their warm-up and this would translate its way into the match in the second half. The duo would link up brilliantly as Grealish found Mahrez at the back post to tap home.
