Man City fans send £120m message after reports Bernardo Silva 'agrees' to join Barcelona

If reports in Spain are to be believed, Bernardo Silva has decided that he wants to join Barcelona this summer.

Sport are reporting that Bernardo has told Pep Guardiola and Manchester City of his intention, as speculation continues in Spain linking the Portuguese playmaker to the Camp Nou. The report adds that City would demand at least €100m for Bernardo, who has three years left on his current contract, but Barca would try to lower that fee by at least €40m.

That could see one of City's best players leave for around £50m, and fans are less than impressed with the suggestion of losing such a popular member of the squad for so little.

Pep Guardiola said last month, when announcing August's friendly between City and Barcelona at the Camp Nou, that he expected Bernardo to remain at City. However, he didn't rule out an exit this summer, and Barca president Joan Laporta looked happy to field questions about Bernardo - even asking Guardiola about the 27-year-old.

In response to the latest reports linking Bernardo to Barca, City fans had a simple reply as they issued a strong message on his valuation.

Taking to Twitter, the common message was for Barcelona to sign Bernardo, fans would not be happy to see anything less than the reported £100m asking price - with a figure of £120m mentioned as a realistic valuation of his abilities.

Bernardo has been honest about his intentions to leave City, citing homesickness during the pandemic, but he has always insisted that he would give maximum effort while contracted at the Etihad, and was not unhappy to stay. Earlier this summer, Guardiola said Barcelona would have a 'difficult time' signing Bernardo when asked by reporters.
