Manchester City supporters have all been questioning the point of the Chinese New Year kit which has been released today.
The smart blue kit with a gold trim has received the seal of approval by City fans and lovers of football shirts in general. It has been created to celebrate the Chinese year of the rabbit which begins on Sunday, January 22.
However, at this stage it is unlikely to ever be worn by the Blues squad in a competitive fixture. This season, shirt manufacturers Puma have created three kits which will be worn in City's four competitions.

A traditional home shirt which is light blue with a burgundy trim, an away kit which has red and black diagonal stripes and an adventurous third kit which is a luminous green with black horizontal stripes. This fourth kit appears to be just a limited edition.
Taking to Twitter, many supporters praised the design of the shirt but were left questioning if there was much of a need for it. Here is what they had to say.

City return to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to Southampton for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. Should the Blues beat the south coast strugglers they will progress to the two-legged semi-finals before this Saturday's Manchester derby.
