Man City fans aim joke dig at Virgil van Dijk after Nathan Ake goal vs Leeds

Manchester City fans have been lauding Nathan Ake after the defender doubled the Blues' lead against Leeds United on Saturday evening.

The Dutchman was in the right place at the right time to give City a two-goal cushion, neatly converting from Ruben Dias' header. Ake's goal follows a run of impressive displays from the former Bournemouth man who has found game-time hard to come by since arriving at the Etihad.

Rodri opened the scoring in the first half at Elland Road after heading home from Phil Foden's teasing cross. After Ake had made it 2-0 to the visitors, Gabriel Jesus added a third late on before Fernandinho rounded off a fine evening's work in the dying embers of the game.

Pep Guardiola had the Champions League second leg in mind as he opted to rotate his squad after their enthralling 4-3 win over Real Madrid in midweek. Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva both started on the bench for the trip to West Yorkshire.

With Ake among the goals, City fans were full of praise for the Dutchman, with a few even throwing a little dig at his countryman Virgil van Dijk. Here's how they reacted on Twitter.
