Manchester City may have dropped a potential hint at Gabriel Jesus’ exit from the club in the coming days. It comes as reports break that the Brazilian is finally set to complete his long-awaited move to Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners have beaten plenty of competition to land the striker, with the player being linked to the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and PSG. Despite concerns over how the lack of Champions League football may impact the club’s pulling power, it appears to have had no impact in this race.
The need for a centre-forward has been made clear for Mikel Arteta, who lacked a consistent goal-scoring threat up front. Add to that the losses of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it became a priority area to be addressed in the summer.

On the need for a striker, the Spaniard had said: “He puts the ball in the net – that’s priority number one. Goal threat. Any successful team needs enough goal threat in the squad. Without it, you have nothing.”
It appears as though Jesus is the answer to the problem for Arteta, with his pressing and versatility complementing his ability in front of goal. And with his move seemingly imminent, Manchester City may have dropped their goodbye message early.
On the official club Twitter, a video containing every single goal of the previous campaign from the striker was posted, coinciding with the reports of his imminent departure. The 25-year-old scored 13 goals across all competitions last campaign.
The Gunners will be hoping he can increase that with his move to north London all but confirmed.
