Manchester City's hopes of landing Jude Bellingham in the summer could reportedly be scuppered by the financial storm surrounding the club.
City have been charged by the Premier League for allegedly breaching dozens of rules between 2009 and the present day, following a four-year investigation into the club's financial status. The club vehemently deny these allegations.
Pep Guardiola is keen to refresh a squad that is seemingly going through a transitional phase, with Joao Cancelo offloaded on loan to Bayern Munich and reports that Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could leave. Key to the Catalan's rebuild was reportedly Bellingham, the Dortmund teenager who is set to become the most in-demand player of the summer.

According to The Telegraph, City are determined to win the race for the teenager and have set aside a massive budget for the summer, but Monday's charges could deal a huge blow to those in charge at the Etihad. The Blues believe their name will be cleared, but there is concern that the threat of serious sanctions could act as a deterrent for any potential arrivals - particularly someone like Bellingham, who is not short of alternatives.
Elsewhere, French outlet Le10Sport report that Paris Saint-Germain retain their interest in City midfielder Silva.
The Portuguese midfielder's future has long been the subject of speculation, with last year's off-season window reportedly seeing Barcelona fail with a late move that the player would have been open to.
Speaking in the new year, Silva admitted he was open to a 'new project' and will again explore his options come June. The 28-year-old isn't likely to push for a move away from the Etihad but could be open to reuniting with former Monaco teammate Kylian Mbappe.
The report adds that both Mbappe and Luis Campos are pushing for the move, but will again face competition from Barcelona.
