Man City confirm departure of another midfielder after Rodri exit

  • Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has completed a permanent move from Manchester City to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Qadsiah after the clubs agreed a transfer fee of around £51 million.
  • Reijnders spent a single season at the Etihad Stadium following a £46.5 million arrival from AC Milan, making 50 appearances, scoring seven goals and helping City secure a domestic cup double.
  • The move continues a major summer overhaul for Manchester City following the departures of long-serving manager Pep Guardiola and key senior players including Rodri, John Stones, Bernardo Silva and Nathan Ake.
  • New manager Enzo Maresca is seeking further squad reinforcements before the transfer window closes, with City linked to Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi and Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez following the £116 million signing of Elliot Anderson.
  • Reijnders will play under former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers at Al Qadsiah, while Manchester City prepare for their Premier League opener against Bournemouth following a 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
