Manchester City and Liverpool have been warned that Chelsea could challenge for the Premier League title in 2022/23, with Kalidou Koulibaly expected to sign from Napoli.
The Blues have already signed Raheem Sterling but it is believed that this signing will soon be followed with confirmation that Chelsea and Napoli have agreed a £34million fee for the transfer of Koulibaly. football.london understands that new owner Todd Boehly has offered the 31-year-old a four-year contract with an option of a further year.
With many more still expected through the door, Boehly has certainly backed Tuchel to an extent whereby he cannot complain about not being given the resources to try and close the gap to Man City and Liverpool next season. "The stakes are high and we're competing not only against the best teams who have ever played in the Premier League but also the best coaches," he told Sky Sports.

"If you [then] see the transfer period and quality of coach at Tottenham, if you see the same at Arsenal, at Man Utd, we know what the challenge is. It's the toughest challenge you can [have].
"We come from sanctions, we come from losing top-quality players, key players, we are a club in transition, in transition of ownership, we were behind in the transfer race and we were behind in the table. So we have things to improve.
"The signing of Raheem shows what we're capable of doing, it shows the ambition of the club and the ownership and it's good because we're all here to win and compete. We love to compete and we love the challenge at the very top. For that we need signings of new quality players or otherwise there's no chance."
Liverpool have signed Darwin Núñez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey so far this summer, while Pep Guardiola's side have added the likes of Erling Haaland and Kelvin Phillips to their squad so far this summer, with brighton's Marc Cucurella the next to potentially join the current champions.
Nevertheless, former Man United player Mikael Silvestre believes that Chelsea's Koulibaly purchase along with the other business being expected should get them to a point where they challenge for the Premier League title in 2022/23.
"It’s a good signing for Chelsea. Kalidou Koulibaly is top class and he can help them challenge for the title. He has balance, power and consistency," Silvestre told LordPing.
"When Chelsea lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, I don’t think there was a lot of better options other than Koulibaly."
Chelsea fans- Is Kalidou Koulibaly's signing on its own enough for the Blues to bridge the gap to Liverpool and Man City at the top of the Premier League in 2022/23 or is a lot more needed still? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
