Man charged with the death of his 'angel' teenage daughter

A man has been charged with the murder of his daughter, aged 19.

Nigel Malt, aged 44, will appear in court on January 26 accused of the murder of his daughter Lauren Malt.

The teenager was pronounced dead in hospital on January 23 after an incident in a cul-de-sac in Norfolk, as reported by The Mirror.

Police state that they were called to a report of a disturbance and a woman having been run over by a car at approximately 7.30pm on January 23.

A post mortem concluded that she died of chest and abdominal injuries.

Nigel Malt is set to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on January 26.

Tributes have poured in for the teenager after she died.

A friend of Lauren wrote on Facebook : "You are my dear angel meant the world to me and I'm so sorry you're gone.

"I can't quite get my head around it. My rock. My little bean. My best friend.

"We had so many plans, but now we're apart. I will miss you every waking moment my love."

A second friend posted: "She was funny and nice and pretty. I will miss her so much."

One described her as "such a lovely polite girl", while another added: "She had a heart of gold. Fly high, my angel."

Another said: "She truly was one of a kind and will be missed by so many - such a wonderful caring young person taken from us too soon. My heart goes to her family xx."

After the incident Norfolk Police have been asking residents if they had any relevant CCTV images or video from doorbell cameras.

A statement for Norfolk police stated: "Lauren, who was provisionally identified today pending formal inquest proceedings, was pronounced dead on Sunday night after being involved in a collision in Leete Way.

"Officers had been called there shortly before 7.30pm after reports of a disturbance and that a woman had been hit by a car.

"A Home Office post-mortem examination carried out today has established the preliminary cause of death as chest and abdominal injuries."

Anyone who believes they may have information relevant to the inquiry can contact the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team on 101 quoting Operation Redmere.
