An international tip-off has led to a Queensland teenager being charged with online child abuse offences.

A 19-year-old's home south of Brisbane was raided after US authorities told Australian Federal Police they suspected someone in Queensland was uploading child abuse material to an online group chat.

Queensland Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) officers charged the man last month after police allegedly connected him to the online account.

He was arrested after JACET officers executed a search warrant of the man's Eagleby home and allegedly found child abuse material on two mobile phones that were seized.

"Anyone who views or accesses images of children being abused is contributing to their harm and is perpetuating the cycle of abuse against them," AFP Detective Acting Inspector Tim Murphy said.

The 19-year-old has been charged with two child abuse material offences and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday.
