
A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of an unidentified victim in East London last week, as detectives search for clues.
Police were called at 16:01hrs on Tuesday, 7 April to reports of an assault on Watney Street, Shadwell.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found two men suffering from knife wounds. The first man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, where he sadly died.
The second man was treated for a knife wound and later discharged.
Detectives are continuing enquiries to formally identify the victim and notify his next of kin.
Hassan Lbane, 39, of Tower Hamlets, East London, was arrested on Friday, April 10, on suspicion of murder.
He was charged with the same offence and grievous bodily harm the following day.
Lbane has been remanded into custody and will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 13.
