A man has been charged with murdering Tyson Fury’s cousin Rico Burton in Altrincham, near Manchester.
Liam O'Prey, 21, stands accused of stabbing the alleged victim to death on Sunday morning and was formally charged on Tuesday.
The incident happened following a reported row in a bar after which 31-year-old Mr Burton was rushed to hospital but died a short time later. A 17-year-old male, thought to be a relative, was also taken to hospital.
The champion boxer has paid tribute to his cousin, writing an Instagram: "It's a pandemic and you don't know how bad it is until one of your own.
"Life is very precious and it can be taken away very quick (sic). Enjoy every moment."
O'Prey, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He will also stand accused of the section 18 assault of a 17-year-old boy who was critically injured and received life-saving treatment from members of the public at the scene.
A 20-year-old man who was also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
