A man has been remanded in custody for the alleged murder of a young woman who was shot in the head at a home on the Sunshine Coast on Friday morning.
Feebie McIntosh, 25, was critically injured shortly after 9am on Friday, during a disturbance in Coolum Street, Dicky Beach.
Police said she was "dropped" at the Caloundra Base Hospital by a 58-year-old man, who was known to her, but she later died.
The accused, 30-year-old Narangba man Bradley Ian Cotten, was intercepted by police and arrested about 20 kilometres away, at Sippy Downs, about six hours after the incident.
In a statement, police said Mr Cotten was "taken into custody without incident" and had been "assisting with investigations".
He appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court via phone link on Saturday morning.
His case was adjourned to a committal hearing on July 29, with Mr Cotten remanded in custody.
Earlier on Friday, police had said Ms McIntosh and Mr Cotten knew each other and were visiting the owner of the Dicky Beach home when the alleged shooting occurred.
"However, preliminary investigations suggest this is not a domestic-related incident," police said in their statement.
The owner of the home and the 58-year-old man are assisting police with their inquires.
On social media, Ms McIntosh's friend, Gabrielle Tranter, said she was still processing that her friend was gone and was "pretty gutted".
"She was the light of our lives, whenever she would walk into a room her smile and positivity would light it up straight away," she said.
"I can't even believe I’m writing this.
"Thank you for everything Feebs, you were one of my most cherished friends and I’ll never forget the time we spent together and the memories we made. I wish I could give you one last cuddle. Rest easy baby girl, I love you forever."
Another friend expressed their condolences on social media, describing Ms McIntosh as "beautiful inside and out", and "the most bubbly, beautiful and caring friend."
"I can't believe you're gone, you had such a good soul, whenever I needed someone, you would be there, you helped me through some of my hardest times," another shared.
"I'm blessed to have had such a good friend and hold so many happy memories."
