Man charged with Hounslow Post Office robbery as ‘£136,000 stolen at gunpoint’

A man has been charged over a £136,000 armed raid at a Post Office in west London.

Rajvinder Kahlon, 41, is accused of robbing Sunaver and Ramandeep Dhillon at the branch on Brabazon Road, Hounslow.

The Metropolitan Police said a man entered the building making threats to the two members of staff with what they believed was a firearm.

He then made off with a large quantity of cash on April 1.

The alleged offence took place at the Post Office counter within a Go Local Xtra convenience store.

Flying Squad officers responded immediately, and detectives used a range of tactics to identify a suspect, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

On Thursday, Kahlon was arrested at his home address a mile away in Great West Road, Hounslow.

He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 6 April, charged with robbery of £136,774.44 and possession of an imitation firearm, namely a handgun.

Kahlon was remanded into custody and will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on May 6, 2024.
