Man charged with attempted murder after bus attack leaves victim fighting for life in Brixton

A Brixton resident has been charged with attempted murder after a man was left fighting for his life during an attack on a bus.

The Met Police has launched an investigation after the disturbance on the 59 bus on Brixton Road at around 10.20am on Thursday.

A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident, where he remains in a critical condition. His family have been informed.

Nathan Grant, 39, from Brixton, was charged with attempted murder and theft on Friday and remains in police custody.

Detectives do not believe any weapons were used in the incident but police enquiries are ongoing.

Grant appeared at Croydon Crown Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on December 20.
