A MAN has been charged in connection with a suspicious package that forced Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station to be evacuated.
Members of the public were led out of the station around midday on June 8 following the discovery of a carboard box that was found in the building’s concourse.
Local cafes and restaurants close to the terminus were also cleared while army bomb disposal experts attended the scene.
The package turned out not to be explosive and was found to pose no risk to the public.
However, Police Scotland later made efforts to find a man that was seen in the area with the package hours before the station was evacuated.
A 50-year-old man has now been charged and is set to attend the Glasgow Sheriff Court in the near future.
Since being charged he has been released on undertaking, the police confirmed.

“Around 12.15pm officers responded to a report of a suspicious package at Buchanan Bus Station.
“He has been released on undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sherriff Court at a later date.”
