An 18-year-old man has been charged over a crash involving two cars that left six other people, including three children, in hospital in southwestern Sydney.
Police said a sedan was seen driving about 140km/h in a sign-posted 70km/hr zone at 2am on Saturday in Milperra when it collided with a 4WD.
A 43-year-old woman and three children - aged 10, 14 and 15 - were trapped inside the 4WD before being freed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Two passengers in the sedan, both men aged 18, were hospitalised and in stable conditions.
The driver of the sedan, an 18-year-old man, was also taken to hospital under police guard for mandatory testing and subsequently charged with 11 offences, including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
