A man has been arrested and charged after members of the public were terrified by the car driving up the wrong side of the M74 earlier this morning, December 29.
Police rushed to the stretch of road between Rutherglen and Glasgow after they received reports of the incident at around 3.10am.
The headlights are clearly spotted on the dashcam coming towards the police car on the soutbound carriageway near Tradeston.

A second dashcam on another police car shows the vehicle travelling alongside the barrier against the flow of traffic.
Glasgow and Lanarkshire road police units brought the car to a stop without any injuries or damage caused.

The 52-year-old-man was arrested and charged after he allegedly refused to take a breathlyser test and for dangerous driving. The driver has remained in custody and is due to appear in court tomorrown, December 30.
Lanarkshire Policesaid: “Many thanks to the multiple members of the public for reporting this suspected drink driver going the wrong way on the M74 earlier today.”
