Man charged after 'glass bottle thrown at Ibrox' and Celtic staff member injured

A man has been charged after a glass bottle was allegedly thrown at a member of Celtic's backroom staff during the Old Firm clash on Sunday.

Police confirmed that one man was injured as a result of the incident at Ibrox stadium and required medical treatment.

And on Friday officers revealed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Record: "A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident where a bottle was thrown at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow during the Rangers v Celtic match on Sunday, April, 3, 2022.

“One man sustained injuries as a result of this and required treatment.

"The 32-year-old is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, April 11, 2022."
