Man charged after cannabis worth more than £100,000 seized by cops in Rutherglen

A man has been charged after cannabis worth more than £100,000 was seized by cops at a property in South Lanarkshire.

Officers carried out the raid at an address in the Baronald Street area of Rutherglen at around 12pm on Thursday.

It was there that a cannabis cultivation with an estimated street value of £130,000 was discovered.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged for drugs offences following the bust.

The man was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

Inspector Kevin Miller, of Rutherglen Police Station, said: “Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community should contact Police via 101 where we can then investigate.”
