A man has been reported to gardaí after he was allegedly caught on video using a powerwasher on a helpless dog heard screeching in pain at a petrol station in Cork.
The man who used the powerwasher was confronted by a shocked bystander who had been recording the incident on video, which has since been brought to the attention of the authorities.
The shocking video is circulating online, appearing to show a man use the hose on the pooch at an Inver petrol station in Bishopstown last Friday, Cork Beo reported.

The dog, which can be heard howling and attempting to shield itself from the force of the hose, is followed by the man who appears to continue to power wash the animal.
An animal rights charity said: "The chemicals alone that could burn into his skin is so dangerous - such a horrific traumatic thing to inflict on this poor dog."
They also claimed that the person who took the video confronted the man, but was shouted by the individual who allegedly proceeded to take out a baseball bat as the conflict escalated.
The incident was reported to gardai in Togher.
In an update this Wednesday afternoon, gardai confirmed that they are aware of reports of an incident involving a dog which occurred in the Bishopstown area last Friday.
"Local Gardaí have spoken with a witness in the past hour and are asking anyone else that witnessed it to please contact the station," a spokesperson said.
The animal rights charity added: "We are asking if you’re local to this area and you witnessed this, please call this station regarding this cruel incident (021) 494 7120."
