A man has been jailed for the 'prolonged and brutal' attack of a woman in front of her young child.
Patrick Corcoran initially punched his victim in Padiham on April 23 last year while they were both sitting in a car with her child. They both got out of the car, leading to Corcoran hitting the victim on her head, causing her to stagger backwards.
He then proceeded to kick her feet from under her, forcing her to fall to the floor of the road. Corcoran then approached his victim again and began hitting her face. As she lay on the road in fear, Corcoran kicked her head with so much force that she fell back on the road again.
