Man booked for social media posts against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath

LUCKNOW: A Bihar-based man has been booked for sharing morphed photos and making derogatory remarks against the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and cabinet ministers on his social media handles.

The accused has been identified as Rajesh Rajjan. He posted an objectionable post on June 28.

The Lucknow Cyber Cell investigated Rajjan's social media handles and found that he had posted derogatory remarks against the UP CM on his Facebook handle and posted a photo on his Twitter handle. The offensive post also hurt the religious sentiments of a community, police said.

The FIR was lodged based on a complaint by sub-inspector Dayashankar Dwivedi posted in Hazratganj police station. Station house officer, Hazratganj police station, Akhilesh Mishra said that an FIR was lodged against Rajjan under the charges of forgery, defamation, printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory, intentional insult, fear among public, criminal intimidation and IT Act.
