Community Policing Inspector David Morgan said: "Shirley’s shoplifting caused alarm and distress to many members of the public and shop staff. I hope this order brings good news for the retail businesses in Kirkby Town centre who were plagued by his continued offending.
"Criminal Behaviour Orders continue to be an extremely effective tool and our successful application in this case shows our commitment to dealing robustly with repeat offenders who have a negative impact on our communities.
"We hope this order prevents any more businesses in the area from being targeted and serves as a clear warning to others. Should Shirley breach the conditions of this order, he will be re-arrested, returned to court and jailed for further offences."
