A man is banned from entering Liverpool city centre for two years after trying to break into a car.
Adam Murphy was given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order after causing criminal damage to the vehicle in Cheapside. The 39-year-old, from Leeds Street, was issued the order at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, October 17.
The order means that he will be breaking the law if he enters an area of Liverpool city centre, including Lime Street, part of the waterfront and near Chinatown.

The order granted prohibits him from entering: the area bounded by and including Dale Street (Queensway) up to and including the junction with Cheapside to Tithebarn Street, Moorfields, Water Street, The Strand, Strand Street, Liver Street, Paradise Street, Duke Street, Upper Duke Street, Berry Street, Leece Street, Renshaw Street, Brownlow Hill, Copperas Hill, Russel Street, Seymour Street, London Road, Lime Street, St George's Place, St John's Lane and Old Haymarket.
Community Policing Sergeant Charles Cottier said: "This order is good news for those who live, work and visit the city centre as it prevents Murphy from causing criminal damage to other vehicles. Murphy was seen trying to break into a vehicle on 25th August and causing damage.
"It is a testament to the spirit and courage of the members of the public who restrained him until officers arrived that he was charged and convicted of this offence. This CBO will prohibit him from entering Liverpool city centre and causing further misery to the community and damage to properties.
"Criminal Behaviour Orders are extremely effective and should Murphy breach the conditions of this order, he will be arrested, returned to court and may be jailed."
