An embarrassed groom was banned from his own stag weekend after a passport blunder meant he had to take his pals to Wetherspoons instead.
Devastated Ollie Bernard, 27, and his friends were due to fly to Copenhagen after splashing out £270 for the trip with Ollie's brother jetting in from the US and his best man flying in from Sweden.
His stag do was going to plan as he checked into the easyJet flight but crew members suddenly noticed his documents were invalid.
To travel to EU nations, UK passports must not be older than ten years and Denmark is one country that insists upon the rule.
Ollie, a digital marketer, was unaware of the rules after easyJet checked him in without bringing up any issues regarding his passport.
The groom, from Stockport, told The Sun : "I had no clue about the rules, I kind of ruined it for everyone.
“My brother had come from the US and the best man from Sweden."
His passport does not expire until January next year but as it was issued on May 4, 2012, he was banned from his own stag do.
Luckily, Ollie and his friends still managed to have a good time after swapping Copenhagen for Manchester Wetherspoons and go-karting instead.
Ollie is set to tie the knot on July 30 and honeymoon in Canada.
However, it's not the first time passengers have had their holidays ruined after a family member was barred from flying to Spain.
Lisa and Neil Schoneville, along with their children Zak (15) and Lily (13) were due to fly to Tenerife on Monday, May 2, as the Mirror reported.
But Zak's passport had expired - even though it still had five months left.
However, like Ollie, his passport must not be older than ten years as EU nations insist on the passport rules.
