Man awarded life-term for murder of his mother in Chennai

CHENNAI: A man who murdered his mother was found guilty of the offence and sentenced to serve imprisonment for life, by a Mahila court here.

Abdul Rahim (35) lived with his mother, Subhadal Beevi, and had frequent fights. In December 2020, after once such fight, Rahim stabbed and killed Subhadal Beevi.

Rahim was arrested by Ayanavaram police and tried by a Mahila Court in the city. The court convicted him on July 7 and awarded life-term and imposed a fine of ₹5,000.
