Man avoids prison sentence after judge says he has grown up and is looking after his children

A man who has committed a "serious offence" was given a suspended sentence after a judge said he "has grown up" since the incident. Josh Alexander Button, of Queen Elizabeth Crescent, Worksop, attended his sentencing hearing via a link at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday, November 3.

He was charged with a number of offences, including taking a vehicle without consent, driving with excess alcohol and affray. Sentencing, Michael Auty QC, said: "It seems to me that you have committed a serious offence, and what you did was an absurd way to behave.

"There is every prospect that you will be able to stay out of trouble. And the most important thing is that you have committed no further offences.
