A man viciously attacked the mum of his newborn son because he didn't like the name chosen for the baby.

Ricky Morris, 31, approached his former partner Jodie Harris while she was out shopping with the child in a pushchair before punching her to the side of her face, a court heard.

Members of the public had to step in to intervene during what the judge described as an "unprovoked assault".
