A man was assaulted outside a shop in broad daylight in Celbridge, Co Kildare.
The incident happened on Main Street at around 1.30pm on Monday afternoon.
No arrests have been made by officers investigating the attack.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating the assault of a man in his 40s, that occurred on Main Street, Celbridge, at approximately 1:30pm yesterday afternoon, Monday, April 25.
"No arrests have been made, however An Garda Síochána are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to this incident. Investigations are ongoing."
