A man has been refused bail after being charged with the murder of his son on the NSW Mid North Coast.
John Steele, 75, faced court this morning, charged over the death of David Steele, 39, at a home in South West Rocks, north of Kempsey, on Thursday night.
Emergency services attended the Gilbert Cory Street residence around 8:15pm and found David Steele, who had suffered a stab wound.
Police say he could not be revived and died at the scene.
Following investigations, John Steele was arrested at the scene and was refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court today.
During the brief court appearance, no application for bail was made and it was formally refused.
The matter will be back in the Kempsey Local Court on June 22.
